How you may use Health Choice
Health Choice is a free, independent resource for home health and independent living. These terms explain what our guidance is — clear, plain-English information to help you decide — and what it is not. Please read them before relying on anything you find here.
Last updated: June 2026. By using healthchoice.org.uk ("the site", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with any part of them, please do not use the site. We may update these terms from time to time; the version published here is always the one that applies.
1. What Health Choice is — and isn't
Health Choice exists to inform, not to sell. We publish educational buyer's guides, explainers and consumer-rights articles covering home diagnostics, mobility and independence aids, nutritional delivery for carers, natural-health devices and UK health-funding entitlements. Everything here is written to help you understand your options so you can make your own informed decision.
The content is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial use. We are not a shop, a clinic or a treatment provider. We do not take orders, dispense products, supply equipment or act as an agent for anyone who does. Where we describe a category of product or a type of grant, we are explaining how it generally works — not endorsing a particular brand, retailer or supplier, and not recommending a specific course of action for your circumstances.
2. Medical disclaimer — please read this carefully
The information on this site is general information only. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional who knows you and your situation.
Health needs are personal. A device, supplement, grant or self-care approach that suits one person may be unsuitable — even harmful — for another. Nothing on Health Choice should be used to diagnose a condition, to start, stop or change any treatment, or to delay seeking care.
Always speak to your GP, pharmacist, nurse, occupational therapist or other suitably qualified professional before acting on anything you read here — particularly before buying or using any medical or assistive device, changing your medication or diet, or making decisions for someone you care for. If you or someone else may be seriously unwell, call 999 or NHS 111, or contact your GP or local urgent care service without delay.
We work to keep our content accurate, evidence-informed and up to date, but we make no warranty that it is complete, current or error-free, and medical understanding and UK funding rules change over time. You rely on the information at your own discretion, and you remain responsible for the choices you make.
3. Acceptable use
You are welcome to read, save and share our guides for your own personal and household use, and to point friends, family or the people you care for towards them. In return, we ask that you use the site fairly and lawfully. You agree not to:
- use the site, or any content on it, for commercial resale, advertising or systematic republication without our written permission;
- copy, scrape, harvest or bulk-download the site by automated means, or use it to train machine-learning models, without our consent;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its underlying systems, introduce malicious code, or interfere with its security or availability;
- misrepresent our content — for example by quoting it out of context, altering it, or implying that we endorse a product, service or seller when we do not; or
- use the site in any way that is unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful to others.
We may restrict or withdraw access to anyone who breaches these terms, and we may change, suspend or remove any part of the site at any time without notice.
4. Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, all written content, guides, imagery, layout and branding on Health Choice are original works owned by us or used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other intellectual-property rights. The Health Choice name and logo are ours.
You may quote short extracts for personal, non-commercial or genuine editorial purposes provided you credit "Health Choice (healthchoice.org.uk)" and, where used online, link back to the original page. Any other reproduction, distribution or commercial use requires our prior written consent. Third-party names, trade marks and references that appear on the site remain the property of their respective owners and are used only for description and identification.
5. External links and third parties
Some pages may refer to external organisations — for example NHS services, local authorities, charities or official UK schemes — to help you find authoritative help. We do not control those websites, are not responsible for their content or accuracy, and a reference does not imply any partnership or endorsement. Always check official sources directly before relying on funding rules, eligibility criteria or contact details.
6. Limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties not expressly set out in these terms, and we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
7. Governing law and contact
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. If you have a question about these terms or about how to use our content, we would genuinely like to hear from you — please get in touch via our contact page.
Your health, your home, your choice. Our role is simply to give you clear, honest information — the decisions are always yours to make.
